Pizza!

Everybody loves pizza, right? Well we decided to make thin crust pizzas at home with dough from scratch and we're excited to show you how easy it is! First things first, get out all the ingredients for your super fast and easy pizza dough.
Today, we've found Vita Sana soft wheat flour at the local grocery store. We already had Fleischmanns pizza yeast, extra virgin olive oil, sea salt, and granulated sugar in our pantry. Not too complicated, right?

Set your oven to 450 F (230 C)

We took one cup of warm water (we boiled it in the kettle and let it sit for 5 minutes) and then poured in one packet of pizza yeast and one teaspoon of granulated white sugar.
We let that bowl of water, yeast and sugar just chill out and get creamy while we got everything else ready to roll. Next, we took two and a half cups of our super fine flour, one teaspoon of sea salt, and two tablespoons of olive oil, and tossed that in a mixing bowl.
By now, the yeast/sugar/water mixture is creamy and ready to dump into the bowl of flour, salt and oil.
Mix it up!
Then let it relax (rise) for 5 minutes.

Next, toss the contents of that bowl on to a lightly floured surface.
We divided our dough into two and rolled it out.
Then we placed our dough on lightly greased baking pans.
All you have to do now, is lay on the toppings! Topping the pizza is definitely the most fun. We decided to do one margarita (tomato sauce, soft mozzarella, basil) and one with lots of other stuff (button mushrooms, black olive, red onion, serrano peppers, pepperoni, tomato sauce and grated mozzarella).
With the margarita pizza, we decided to add the basil at the very end. Here's how they looked going in to the oven...
After about 15 minutes, they came out like this!
Slice up and enjoy pizza shop pizza at home!

First Post!

Hey Folks! We are Kyle and Lydia. A couple, who like cooking at home. We decided to create a page to show our friends and family how we make what we make, and maybe it will inspire you to create restaurant worthy dishes in your own home. More often than not, it is relatively low in cost and fun to learn. Follow us as we experiment with flavors and techniques.
